Locations & jurisdictions

Which VPS location is best for Latin America?

Short answer

São Paulo for Brazil — IX.br is the largest exchange in the southern hemisphere and nothing else comes close for Brazilian users. Miami for the rest of the region, since most Latin American cables land there. Panama City if you want regional latency plus an offshore jurisdiction, and Santiago or Bogotá for Andean coverage.

Brazil deserves a local instance rather than a US one. International routes from Brazil are congested and variable, and the difference between São Paulo and Miami for Brazilian users is typically 100 ms or more.

Panama is the interesting case: excellent connectivity to both Americas and a jurisdiction outside every alliance, which is why it is our founding region.
