Company

We built a host around holding as little as possible.

Everything else — the crypto-only billing, the absent signup form, the jurisdiction choices — follows from that single constraint.

What we believe, stated plainly

Privacy is architecture, not policy

A policy can change quietly. A database field that does not exist cannot be breached, sold or subpoenaed. We designed the signup form around what we did not want to be able to disclose.

Anonymous is not lawless

We are not a bulletproof host. We answer valid legal process, and we remove genuinely criminal content. That is what keeps our address space clean — and clean address space is why your mail is delivered and your API calls are not challenged.

Publish the caveat with the claim

Full-disk encryption does not protect against a compromised hypervisor. Offshore hosting does not confer immunity. A warrant canary is untested in most courts. We say all three on the pages that sell those things.

The jurisdiction is the product

Alliance membership, GDPR applicability and DMCA reach are published on all 138 location pages, because for most of our customers those decide more than the specification does.

Frequently asked questions

Is OnionVPS a legitimate hosting provider?

OnionVPS is a registered Seychelles International Business Company operating since 2020, running its own AS200558 network with transit from Cogent, Lumen, Arelion, GTT, Telia and peering at DE-CIX Frankfurt, AMS-IX, LINX, Equinix Ashburn, HKIX, NL-ix. It publishes a warrant canary, an SLA with credits and a full acceptable use policy.

Are you a bulletproof host?

No, and the distinction matters. We hold no identity data and we do not act on speculative complaints, but we do not host malware command-and-control, phishing or child sexual abuse material, and we answer valid legal process. Bulletproof providers get their address space blocklisted wholesale, which breaks the service you paid for.

Why Seychelles?

The International Business Company framework offers strong corporate confidentiality, no public beneficial-ownership register, minimal reporting and limited mutual legal assistance exposure. It is also a jurisdiction outside every intelligence-sharing alliance.

Who owns OnionVPS?

OnionVPS Systems L.L.C. is privately held. The Seychelles IBC framework does not require a public beneficial-ownership register, and we do not publish one — for the same reason we do not collect yours.
